Lamentation
Utilizing a palette of carbon black and earthen olive, this composition explores the heavy, physical weight of the earth at rest. The pigment is applied with a dense hand, creating a surface of primordial, grounded stillness.
— Dimensions: 16 x 20 inches (canvas); 17 x 21 x 2.5 inches (total enclosure).
— Medium: Professional oil on gallery-wrapped canvas.
— Housed in a custom-milled, solid unstained walnut floater frame. The walnut acts as a warm, organic anchor to the work, creating a physical dialogue between the wood and the pigment.
— Signed and dated by the artist, Sara Kraus.
